Plumbing problem

We moved into Jeff and Karen’s neighborhood in 2003 when Mikayla was 14. Jeff and Karen were out somewhere and our daughter Becca was playing with McKenna at their house and Becca came running back to tell me Mikayla needs help!

I came down and she was in the bathroom holding her hands under the faucet as she could not figure out how to turn off the water. One of the handles broke or something so she was trying not to get water all over the place. It was funny seeing her there like that–the fix was a simple shutting off of the water supply under the counter.

But she had her regular smile on her face and all was well.

More than a friend..an Angel.

Mikayla and I met about 7 years ago. She was so beautiful, vibrant and fun to be around. She made the vibe around her lighter and fun. I looked up to her because she was strong, independent, and wise. Mikayla throughout her battle was graceful, strong and courageous. Looking at her; you never would’ve thought she was ill. That’s how she wanted it. From the moment I knew of her battle I cried and prayed that God would heal her. I never thought it would be this kind of heal. She always gave me advice and told me that I was beautiful even if I didn’t feel like I was. She gave me confidence to be myself and to wear what I felt good in. Today I remembered her words as I wore the dress for her. She touched our lives and had such a beautiful impact on our hearts. We won’t ever forget her and her many memories that live in our hearts. God truly gained a beautiful and gracious Angel. A few days after we learned the devastating news; I had a dream. She was in it and she was holding a baby to give to me. It gave me hope that all these years of trying are about to end. I will still cry knowing she’s gone, but rejoice at the many memories that we shared together. Until we meet again Mikayla; i love you and i miss you. Fly high and visit me in my dreams!

A Beautiful Soul

The day was September 14, 2019 and I was super nervous because I was about to make the biggest commitment anyone can make…take the hand and make the woman of my dreams my wife. Needless to say the wedding was flawless and fun with everyone who was there. The one thing I could never get out of my mind nor ever forget that stood out like a sore thumb, but made the day so much brighter, was Mikayla having a blue dress that made her vibrant. Getting to spend the happiest day of our lives getting married with such a beautiful soul and personality made the day even more special.

Her being there was a blessing and we were so honored she took the time to spend that moment in time with us rather than stay home from being tired of fighting her biggest battle. Never have I met a stronger woman that endured as much as she has but still make time for others and make others smile by smiling through the pain.

I’ve been telling myself since her passing into Eternity that she didn’t lose the battle to cancer. No! She ultimately beat cancer when God Himself brought her home telling her she had been fighting long enough and decided it was time she got her well deserved rest and relaxation after all the battling she was winning 24/7.

Truly an amazing, beautiful, courageous, confident and vibrant soul. Taken too soon but no longer enduring the pain she battled and now spending Eternity with God in Heaven.

Mikayla we all love and miss you! We can’t wait to see you again in that beautiful blue dress again greeting us at the Pearly Gates for the biggest Welcome Home Party Heaven can handle! I’ll be praying to you and hope to see you in my dreams for your guidance and just fun conversations! Lol
